The Church of England – Everyday Faith
Tasks
The Church of England set out to develop a next-generation app to deliver daily reflection content, replacing their existing ‘Follow the Star’ Campaign App, which had built a strong user base of over 20,000. This presented a unique challenge: maintaining continuity and familiarity for existing users while introducing innovation to attract new audiences.
To achieve this, we engineered a flexible and scalable app ecosystem capable of supporting future campaigns and evolving content needs. A key focus was building a robust content delivery framework that ensured a seamless transition with minimal disruption to the user experience. Additionally, we integrated an efficient, custom CMS, empowering the Church of England team to manage and update content effortlessly.
Development Process
While the frontend requirements for the new app were relatively straightforward, flawless execution was essential to delivering a seamless user experience. The interface needed to be simple yet engaging, allowing users to navigate daily reflections effortlessly while maintaining an intuitive and visually appealing design.
To support this, Pocket App developed a bespoke Content Management System (CMS) tailored specifically to the Church of England’s needs. This user-friendly CMS empowered their team to manage content dynamically, enabling swift uploads and updates without requiring technical expertise. Designed for flexibility, the system seamlessly accommodated seasonal campaigns, daily reflections, and evolving content needs. This capability ensured the app remained fresh, engaging, and aligned with the spiritual journey of its users, solidifying it as a valuable and timely resource for the community.
The App
The app was strategically soft-launched to a select group of users, allowing us to gather valuable feedback and pinpoint areas for refinement before the full-scale release. This approach provided an opportunity to test core functionalities in a real-world environment, ensuring the content delivery system and user interface performed as intended. By closely monitoring user interactions and collecting insights, we identified issues and made targeted improvements. This iterative process not only enhanced the app’s stability and usability but also ensured a smooth transition from the previous campaign to the new platform.
Pocket App continues to be a trusted partner for the Church of England, working collaboratively to enhance the app and introduce new features that enrich the user experience. Our ongoing commitment to platform refinement ensures it remains relevant, responsive, and aligned with the evolving needs of the Church and its community. Building on the success of this project, we’ve since partnered on two additional initiatives, further deepening our relationship. We look forward to continuing this partnership, leveraging our expertise to support the Church’s digital transformation and further its mission with innovative technology solutions.
